FAQs & Studio Policies
Hours and operation
What are your studio hours?
You can always find our most up-to-date studio hours at the bottom of our website.
Do I need a reservation to paint?
Reservations are not required! Walk-ins are always welcome during our studio hours.
If you'd like to reserve a table, we're happy to take reservations—just give us a call.
Please note that during busy times, such as weekends and holidays, there may be a wait for a table. We recommend making a reservation if you'd like to avoid waiting. Reservations are also strongly encouraged for groups of 8 or more.
How old do you have to be to paint pottery?
There is no age requirement to paint pottery! We welcome artists of all ages. Children are welcome, but we recommend that young painters be accompanied by an adult to help them enjoy the experience.
Can I bring outside food with me?
Yes! You're always welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks—we're proudly BYOB-friendly.
Please note that cakes and cupcakes are only permitted if you've rented our party room for a private event.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, all major credit and debit cards, and contactless payments, including Tap to Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
How it works
How does this work?
Painting pottery is easy and fun!
- Walk in anytime during our studio hours—no reservation is required unless you're reserving tables for a large group or booking a party.
- Choose your pottery from our huge selection of pieces on display.
- Have a seat, and we'll teach you the basics of painting pottery and get you started.
- Paint at your own pace. Our staff is always available to help as much or as little as you'd like.
- When you're finished, leave the rest to us! We'll glaze and fire your pottery in our kiln.
- About a week later, your finished piece will be shiny, food-safe, and ready for pickup!
How much does it cost to paint?
We have over 250 pottery pieces to choose from, so there's something for every style and budget!
Prices range from $15 to $175, depending on the size and type of the piece, with most customers spending between $25 and $32.
The price of each piece includes everything you need—studio time, paints, glazing, and kiln firing. There are no additional studio fees.
How long does it take to paint?
The time it takes depends on the pottery piece you choose and how detailed you'd like your design to be. More intricate designs will naturally take longer to complete.
As a general guide:
- Adults: Most projects take about 1–2 hours.
- Young children: Most projects take about 30–45 minutes.
There's no rush—take your time and enjoy the creative experience!
What happens if I make a mistake?
Don't worry—most mistakes are easy to fix while you're painting!
If you make a mistake, let one of our team members know right away. We're happy to help correct it before your piece is glazed and fired.
Please avoid painting over mistakes yourself, as they can sometimes show through after the firing process. We're here to help make sure your finished piece turns out beautifully!
When will my pottery be ready?
Your pottery is typically ready for pickup in about one week.
When you check out, we'll give you a pickup date. Your finished pottery is usually available after 4:00 PM on that date.
Why is it not ready immediately? / why can't I take it with me?
Your pottery can't be taken home the same day because it needs to be glazed and fired in our kiln after you're finished painting.
Our kilns reach temperatures of over 1,800°F, and the complete firing process—including heating and cooling—takes about 29 hours. This transforms your painted piece into a durable, glossy finish that is food-safe and made to last for years.
The extra time is what gives your pottery its beautiful, vibrant finish!
How long will you keep my pottery for pickup?
We hold finished pottery for 30 days after it's ready for pickup.
If you're unable to pick it up within that time, please let us know. We will never dispose of your pottery without contacting you first—we'll always do our best to reach you before making any decisions about your piece.
Can I bring in and paint pottery not purchased at the studio?
No. For the safety of our kilns and our customers' pottery, we do not allow outside pottery to be painted or fired in our studio.
We can only fire pottery purchased from our studio (or, in rare cases, pieces we can confidently identify as being from one of our approved manufacturers).
This policy protects our kilns and everyone else's artwork. Pottery or paints from other sources may be made from different materials and can crack, melt, or even damage the kiln and other pieces during the firing process.
Parties
How can I book a party?
Booking a party is easy!
Whether you're planning a kids' birthday party, adult celebration, or corporate event, just give us a call and we'll help you choose the perfect party package, answer any questions, and reserve your date.
Do I have to book a party?
No. If your group has 8 people or less, you don't need to book a party. You're welcome to walk in, or you can call ahead to reserve a table.
Booking a party is a great option if you'd like a more organized experience. Party bookings include benefits such as:
- A reserved date and time
- A dedicated team member to assist your group
- A table for food, drinks, cake, and snacks
- Coupons for each guest
- And more!
What if I have more than 8 people but don't want to book a party?
Large Group Policy
To provide the best experience for all of our guests:
- Groups larger than 6 people are required to make a reservation.
- Groups of more than 8 people are required to reserve our party room.
Additional Policies:
- Large groups may not split into multiple tables or make separate reservations to avoid these policies.
- If your group arrives together, is participating together, or is visiting the studio together with more than 8 people, it will be considered one group, regardless of how seating or reservations are arranged.
- Everyone counts toward the group total, including guests who are not painting. Non-painting guests still require seating and occupy studio space, so they are included when determining group size.
- All groups of more than 8 people are subject to the applicable party room fee and 15% gratuity.
Why is 15% gratuity included for my party? Is it required?
A 15% gratuity is included with party bookings because you'll have a dedicated Party Host assigned to your group for the entire event.
Your Party Host is there to make your celebration as easy and enjoyable as possible by helping with setup, assisting guests, serving food, cleaning up, and taking care of the details so you can relax and enjoy the party.
If, for any reason, you feel our service does not merit the gratuity, please let us know. We want every party to be an exceptional experience.
Why do you collect a $50 deposit?
A $50 deposit is required when you book your party to reserve your date and time.
Your deposit is applied toward your party balance, so it isn't an extra fee. If you're unable to have your party, your deposit is fully refundable.
The deposit simply allows us to reserve your space and staff specifically for your event.
Can I bring my own food, cake and drinks?
Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own food, cake, drinks, and snacks, or have them delivered directly to our studio for your party.
We want you to celebrate your way, so feel free to bring whatever you'd like to make your event special!
Can I bring beer and wine?
Yes! We are BYOB-friendly, so you're welcome to bring your own beer and wine.
There is no corkage or BYOB fee, so you can enjoy your beverages while you paint. Please drink responsibly, and remember that guests must be of legal drinking age to consume alcohol.
Can I bring in my own decorations?
Yes! You're welcome to bring your own decorations to personalize your party.
We just ask that decorations be easy to set up and remove, and that nothing causes damage to the studio. If you have any questions about specific decorations, feel free to give us a call!

Caring for your pottery
Is it dishwasher safe? Is it microwave safe?
We recommend hand washing all painted pottery to help preserve its finish and keep it looking its best.
While the pottery is glazed and fired, we do not recommend placing it in the dishwasher or microwave, as repeated exposure to high heat and harsh detergents may affect the finish over time.
Is the pottery food-safe?
Yes! All of our functional pottery—including mugs, plates, bowls, platters, and other dinnerware—is food-safe once it has been professionally glazed and kiln-fired in our studio.
Our firing process creates a durable, food-safe finish that's ready to be enjoyed for everyday use.
